Financial Assistance Guidelines
GUIDELINES & IDENTIFICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The amount of financial assistance is determined after an application is filled out and an interview is conducted. This assistance is only available to McNairy County residents. There is a lifetime financial limit for help and you are only able to ask for assistance once every six months.
To receive help you must present your drivers license or photo ID, social security card, and SNAP card if the client receives food stamps.
ELECTRIC BILLS
If you are on prepay, we need a daily usage sheet for prepay so we can access your electrical usage to determine the amount we will be able to pay.
If you are on regular pay, we need a current bill from PEC.
Above required ID.
If you are requesting a deposit, then the client must first go to PEC and pay a $5 membership fee. We will only work with prepaid deposits. Regular deposits will only be considered on a case by case basis.
WE ONLY PAY METERED AMOUNTS, we will not pay: OLD BILLS, transfer fees, reconnect fees, for security lights, payments on HVAC units, or returned check fees.
WATER, SEWER, NATURAL GAS, SOLID WASTE
Above required ID and a current bill from the utility department.
Deposits for water will only paid be up to $100.
PROPANE GAS
Above required ID
We will pay only up to 100 gallons of delivered propane if client is approved and eligible.
RENT ASSISTANCE
Above required ID
Rent is a once in a lifetime assistance.
Client must have a current lease from the landlord.
Jesus Cares must have pre-approval from the landlord to do any type of rental deposit.
