How Families Are Helped

Jesus Cares of McNairy County prides itself on being a “Hand Up not a Hand Out” program. Our goal is to equip our families to effectively use the resources available to them and to empower them to achieve self-sufficiency.

Families requesting emergency financial assistance for the first time are interviewed to determine if they are fully utilizing all federal, state and local resources available to them.  After the initial interview, an application is completed to determine and validate their specific needs.

All emergency services are approved on a case by case basis.  Jesus Cares adheres to guidelines for financial assistance that were developed by a group of volunteer board members and citizens of McNairy County.  These guidelines can be picked up at the office or you can read them online by clicking here.
